I.e. stop receiving notifications when someone posts in thread? I can imagine it will get annoying if you just share a (not OC) meme and it gets popular, but you're not really interested in comments to it?

On Lemmy I am unsure, I know I have not found any way to do so on Kbin aside from just turning notifications off in general in the Settings so I would assume it's probably gonna be a similar "No unless if you can disable them all" type of thing.
Definitely a feature I wanna see lol

I think you can mute posts somehow, but on wefwef.app I can't find it right now, sorry :(

I have not found a way.
However, if you have one monster thread running, clicking on any notification will clear all of the notifications from that thread but not any others. So you do at least have a quick way to get rid of them and you won't miss anything you care about.
