This would have been just over two months after the stock market crashed, marking the start of the Great Depression. Never before and hopefully never again will there be a better time to say this.
Dorothy Parker was a humor writer and Robert Benchley was a comedian. Both of them were members of the Algonquin Round Table, a group of New York-based artists who were very close.
