I actually think he deserves it, he served the city for a very long time, and did a lot for them.
The statement from the mayor just comes across as mean spirited, to be honest.

Yeah, I mean who else in Invercargill has been such a public face for such a long time? I understand he hasn't been left with a lot of friends in the current council though.
