Was about to recommend LISA and To The Moon bjt neither fit the jRPG bit. Both are great games but the former is more a deranged sidescroll Earthbound and the latter is story driven. Last Dream though? Absolutely fills the role. Vaguely reminiscient of early FF's and a boatload of achievements if thats you're thing.

how many have you played? OFF, Yume Nikki, Lisa the Painful are the first choice cool weird rpgs, not jrpgs though really.
