Do i need to run photos through imgur before posting with Jerboa?

Do i need to use imgur like on r? Or can i just post a photo directly from my phone's gallery?

You can upload photos directly from your device. The use of 3rd-party sites are not necessary.

but there is some benefit to upload on imgur, as it saves server storage space of your instance.

Just be aware that some instances will prevent any image upload that is greater than 100KB, so for these a 3rd party site is necessary.

Don't rely on whatever host you're uploading to to strip your metadata. It's safer to do it yourself locally with something like Scrambled Exif
