TIl Rick James’ cameo in chappelle’s show was so successful it caused him to return to touring and performing. He died a few months into the tour.

I guess he went out doing what he loved? (Cocaine and hookers?)

That was such a great Chappelle episode. Second best was the Prince one.

He was in pretty rough shape, unfortunately, by that time.

On the morning of August 6, 2004, James's caretaker found him dead in his Los Angeles home at the Oakwood Toluca Hills apartment complex, just outside Burbank. He was 56 years old.
