Do you read Alan Moore comics? There's a page at the back of one of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen books about the song Mack the Knife. Apparently it's an old traditional British song about a real person, a sailor named McHeath. When he was in port, London prostitutes used to hire him to kill rivals.
