I made some offhand comment and now when I try and view the comment, edit it or find the board through search, I can’t find it.
I do the same with my wife’s account and it works. Is there no system message saying your banned?

Hey, I've done a bit of testing to help you out, here's what I found.
There is otherwise no notification given to the user or any text to say you're banned.
I could still search for the community and view it, but just couldn't post to it.
There is no difference in behaviour between getting banned from a community on your home instance, or getting banned from a community on a remote instance.
I'm guessing you can still access the instance the community was on? Can you check the Modlog?

Ok so now I can see the board on the different instance. I’m in mobile exclusively so I dont actually know how to see the mod log. So I can see the board, I can edit the comment but I can’t see the topic. Maybe the topic is removed?
Anyway I can see the board now so I guess everything is all good

Then yes most likely the topic is removed, it sounds like everything is fine. If you're able to comment on the board as well then you're definitely not banned.

That seems to be the case. Thank you so much for your help!

Hey it's worth mentioning a bunch of .ml instances got taken back by the country that owned the domain ending. Sort of like a .gov domain ending. AFAIK it affected quite a few instances.
Worth mentioning if you're having instances of content being unreachable. Cheers!

I’m on Lemmy.world and I had heard of the .ml stuff.
As an aside I’m loving Lemmy and all it’s craziness. It’s like how the internet used to be

Cheers to that!
