Just ran across this thread from the author

@self it's not a revolt against big tech. It's a revolt against bad technology rushed out that hurts people being forced into people's lives.

Amoeba_Girl@awful.systems · 11 pts · 2y

what's the difference

BlueMonday1984@awful.systems · 9 pts · 2y (6 replies)

They're the same picture

Chaft@meow.social · 0 pts · 2y (5 replies)

@BlueMonday1984 yeah I suppose you could link the two. But I kinda think not all big tech is in a rush to kill me with poorly tested goods. This also has implications of guilt from the government, I mean the whole allowing Elon to test his half assed autopilot cars on the road wouldn't work in the EU without lawsuits.

Soyweiser@awful.systems · 8 pts · 2y

The tagline of big tech is literally 'move fast and break things' this was always going to end badly when we moved away from software on peoples home/work machines to the wider world.

self@awful.systems · 6 pts · 2y (3 replies)

why not both

fasterandworse@awful.systems · 6 pts · 2y (2 replies)

if only Elon would literally test his half-assed autopilot cars like that guy who tested his company's bullet-proof vests with live ammo

froztbyte@awful.systems · 5 pts · 2y

ould literally test his half-assed autopilot cars

let's not forget that he did - that bit of embarrassment is likely a guarantee that he'll never try again. narcissists really don't like to be contradicted or shown to be wrong in general. amps up way the fuck more in public

fasterandworse@awful.systems · 5 pts · 2y

if only his sycophants would hold him to that bare minimum. Evidence that he trusts the cars with his life as much as they do with theirs
