The Great Eared Nightjar's eyes can reflect light back into their retina for superior night vision (like crocs and cats)

This fluffy dragon bird bb is mostly known for is nocturnal and superior night vision due to a layer of tissue at the back of its eye called a tapetum lucidum, which reflects visible light back through its retina.

• Nightjars in general have some dark folklore told about them because of their big black eyes and piercing call. In Indonesia, there's a satanic nightjar(!) that has a call that sounds like "sound of plucking out someone’s eyes.^1^
