I have had the game about three days, and have maybe ten hours logged. One of the major orders, supposedly lasting 8 more days, is to complete 8 defence missions against automatons. Another is to get 60 kills with the anti material rifle.
Last night I had 4/8 defence missions completed and finally had enough req to unlock the anti material rifle. This morning my progress on defence has disappeared and I don't see the anti material rifle goal anywhere.
What am I missing?

Major Orders are community progressed objectives. Currently, we have successfully defended 5 planets. Ingmar was the last successful defence campaign.
The "get 60 kills with the anti material rifle" was a Personal Order. Each Helldiver completes them as a personal goal for the day. While I cannot find confirmation, personal orders are probably bugged since the last update(s). I haven't seen a new personal order for a couple days.
Now go out there and spread managed democracy

The game and servers are janky as hell and rewards and progress change at random because the server can't adequately track your progress.

Its a global effort. At the end of the timer on a Planet, it needs to be in favour of the Helldivers in order for that campaign to be considered a win

The defence mission is a global goal for everyone to beat together.
The 60 kills with an anti material rifle was a daily goal and by the time you got the gun the day had passed.
