What to do with a broken monitor?

Found this bad boy next to the dumpster. 32" Samsung. Anything I can do to salvage it? Or is it too expensive to fix? (I'm pretty handy)

Or could I use it as is and somehow only use the working portion of the screen?

Are you into photography? I used to take the screen off and use the soft led backlight for lighting up sets. I know in TVs there is a nice soft white panel being the screen. Perfect even lighting

Depending on your graphics card there seems to be several ways to crop the screen to your liking. I would look into those. I think there are several posts on Reddit about people going about that.

if you have the model #, just need to look up the bom (bill of materials) & get replacement parts. looks to be the LCD panel that's cracked.

alternately just tape over that part of the screen & use the rest of it as it seems to be displaying fine
