Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Lycanthropy - Aftershave (Alcohol Free)
Fragrance: Chatillon Lux - Sunrise on LaSalle - Eau de Toilette
SW and CFG will be a close match-up today. So many sub favorites on either side, and many complimenting or playing off of the other. Both have incredible soap bases and have extended into hardware—with the Dogclaration brush I used today as an example.
SW Desairology was my introduction to artisan shave soaps. As such, SW beats out CFG by a small margin. Lycanthropy, which I despised when I first sampled it, has recently become a top favorite. Enough that I just bought a full tub at the end of last year after finishing off the sample I had from years ago.
Spending two days without shaving is not the most simple in terms of face-feel, but I find it the most easy and satisfying to shave. Great shave today, with excellent face-feel.
I'm a daily shaver and haven't missed a day in a couple of years. But ... your comment got me thinking. Perhaps, being a daily shaver means shaving 365 times per year. Last year I did BBS November with @djundjila which created 30 extra shaves. This year I could have 31 extra shaves and use that margin to skip a day now and then. [ Old habits die hard, so I doubt I'll do this, but it's a fun thought experiment. ]
Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! — Black Watch
Motor oil vs motor oil, banana vs banana, two sub favourite artisans; lots of split loyalties, and a dramatic conflict of interest in the case of vocal staghead and Southern Witchcrafts associate u/phteven_j. This match has all the ingredients for a nailbiter.
First, I had planned to bring it the Valley of Ashes for this, but yesterday's Black Watch-Pomona combo was so good that I wanted to try another combination with it.
Rhapsody and Black Watch don't have the same vibe, but with Pomona bridging the gap, they complement each other nicely.
Aftershave: Southern Witchcrafts — Valley of Ashes
The match isn't over, but skimming the SOTD thread today, it sure looks like SW is taking a solid lead. I couldn't help but adding a Second Luxury Shave® with what I thought would be the main contestants today, The Stag and VoA.
With Valley of Ashes, the description that puts it best IMO is from u/jimtasticness:

I killed a tub of that stuff. Sad to see it discontinued.
Excellent picture, by the way. Nice lighting. Can I use it for the sub banner/icon/etc.?

Thank you!
Sure, I don't mind if you use the photo for the sub.

The Stag peeking through in the background is a nice touch 👌

Thanks! The Stag deserved a spot in the picture :)

I'm counting on on Southern Witchcrafts taking the day so that I can use CF today and SW later in the month.

That's probably a good bet. The SW fans seem to have come in strong!

I love SW and CFG about equally, but CFG makes my favorite razor and the only SW scent I have left in my collection is unscented, so CFG won today.

Ok shave. Only a single pass nothing going on type shave. This soap is not a performer but I keep trying to wear it down a bit now and then.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
I get to support today's underdog and use the Stag on the same day. What's not to love?
Enjoy your day!

The Stag definitely strikes a different balance. u/WiReY_GuY put it like this:
It's difficult not to like these two scents!
