I look at submission as a gift, and being a Dominant as a responsibility. As a Master, it’s my role to provide a safe space in which I can push my slave to experience her kinks as fully as possible within her limits.

I see it as a gift, but not in the way it’s been convoluted. It’s a gift in that the submissive shouldn’t give it to just anyone, but it’s not, because you wouldn’t take a gift back, or ask for it back. At least, I wouldn’t.
