You probably can get Linux to work on it. However after 10 years of use you may run into hardware issues.

It still runs shockingly well on 18.1 and I use it daily for playing podcasts on YouTube.

Oh, well my device was made in 2019 and runs Lineage 21. Apparently that's not entirely the norm
What kernel are you on? If its a new enough kernel and the device has enough ram you should be able to upgrade or port an upgrade
