People seem to have such noble reasons for joining lemmy. Me, I just saw the app on F-droid when I couldn't get to sleep and got hooked lol

That is OK. We love you still.

Truth is, people who stumbled in are what we need more of. There are only so many people who care about data freedom or hate spez. People like you are what makes Lemmy (and Kbin, beehaw, etc) grow.

It's got a pretty good vibe, the community feels really friendly and supportive. I hope it stays like this as it grows

Noble? I just got perma banned 5 times from the website next door

All because I mentioned piracy in the wrong subs too many times... I might have insulted the admins along the way but come on, perma banned?

Anyway, got tired of creating accounts with VPNs.

I was addicted to scrolling reddit. Wanted a replacement, rather than getting rid of said addiction, so here I am. Nothing noble about that! Lol

Any win's a win in my book

I just joined, as I had a Reddit account that was mostly used for lurking. That account I deleted on my own terms.

I believe most joined due to the shit-ness of older mainstream apps.
