AWS S3 is stored in data centres all over the planet for example.
The fediverse is stored in servers all over the planet too.
If you set up accounts on a dozen different servers, owned by different companies in different countries, that too is all over the planet.
Is it storage that you need to spread, or ownership, and if so, why?
I'm asking because each country has different laws about storage requirements and access to the data in case of .. insert random reason .. as well as different liabilities etc.

Have you looked at IPFS? I used it to host a small site just to see how it works, it’s pretty neat.
