Does anyone actually like the "Momir" thing?

I'm wondering if anyone actually finds this format enjoyable. Seems like an RNG fest to me with very little interesting decisions :/

I haven't played it much, but it really interests me as say a cube format where each cmc cardpool can be curated, to eliminate the problem it had on arena or mgto or wherever for a while of it basically being a race to zacama.

It really would require some detailed understanding the cardpool, and probably a wealth of creatures with activated abilities that cost mana for the decisions to be very interesting, so I do feel like you probably need a dedicated playgroup who is interested in that specifically for a while before you are going to get really interesting games.

It's awful. An absolute grind and it's so much worse if you are on the draw.

When I saw the event, I was trying to plan how I would build my deck to work around the emblem. Would I want to ramp, getting as much land down so I could get stronger creatures with the emblem earlier? Or maybe a madness deck? Flashback!? Then I realized it's just completely random and it was such a let down.

What's the momir thing?

It's a magic arena format where once a turn you can pay X, discard a card and cast a token creature with X CMC. You can learn more about it here.

What an odd format. I can see why it's online only.

Definitely want to see it in action to get a better understanding.

It's a fun novelty for awhile, I can only enjoy it a little bit at a time. The variation and the extremely slow pace can get deflating if you lose four straight slow grindy games because you had a bad spell populate.
