c/witchygardening · by astreus@lemmy.world · 3yWhat are your "must grows" for incense, oils, and brews? I've got thyme, sage, mint, lemon balm, sweet grasses and roses coming through! How about you? 3 points · 7 comments · view on lemmy.world

Lavender, and sage mostly.

Such a versatile combo! I may have given my lavender a little too much coffee and it's not very happy! Added in some grit 🤞
Have you tried making lavender syrup?

I honestly cannot keep lavender alive for the life of me. I just keep trying. Sage will typically go wild and be in abundance. What do you use the lavender syrup for?

Do you use plant food or fertiliser? Because I've recently learned that lavender hates food! They need gritty soil.
Baking and making nice tasting soft drinks, mostly :D

I use worm compost, and i didn't know that. Huh... i guess I'll see how they do with less love. How often do you water it?
Oooo, I've got a great lavender cookie recipe that's so delicate.

In the current heat wave? Quite a lot! I've kept it partially protected from the very glaring sun it's doing a lot better.
And lavender attracts pollinators!!
