I think that changed a bit recently where the for or is being a bit more conservative because the server is hosted in Ireland and the laws are a bit more strict.
Admin for lemmynsfw here, you are mixing things up a bit. vlemmy (an instance that mysteriously disappeared recently after defederating from a instance thats hosts lolicon) was the Irish one. lemmynsfw.com has changed policy's recently to make a healthier community, maintain federation with other instances, and generally figure things out for the better with lemmys limited software.
Either way, you can browse pornlemmy communities and lemmynsfw communities between each other since we federate with each other. All that matters is that right now those seem to be the only current NSFW instances attempting to operate responsibly and legally, to my present knowledge at least.

Lemmynsfw.com is larger and I believe they allow just about anything consensual and legal.
PornLemmy.com is more into the vanilla things and is more heavily moderated in the communities and posts they allow there.
