Oh, don't worry, even if everyone was vegan, they'd still cut the forests to do something else. In their eyes, that's just undeveloped land. Everything must serve the machine that is capitalism.

The land use of animal agriculture in particular is much larger than nearly any other industry. You'd have to see an unprecedented scale of changes in the land use rates of other industries to match it
46% of the world's habitable land goes to agriculture of which 77% goes to animal agriculture. Land use of other industries is only 1%
