The Lightning Network barely worked and could never solve bitcoin congestion. The proponents are finally giving up trying to push this dumb idea uphill.

Frankly the example would be better if instead of a coffee, Alice wants to buy a kilo of horse. At least with those stakes someone would be motivated to sit down and peruse the insane network diagrams.
