Dead (musician) - Former singer of black metal band Mayhem known (among other things) for his suicide photo being used as an album cover

Last Podcast on the Left did a fantastic episode on the Swedish/Norwegian black metal scene around this time. They cover Mayhem and Burzum extensively - I highly recommend it.

There's a good movie about them called Lords of Chaos. Dead has a small but central role in it that's well-portrayed by Val Kilmer's son.

No kidding. Guy who took the pics of the suicide was later murdered by another bandmate.
