Damn, I knew the moon was just a slice of cheese, but I didn't know that neutron stars were a dairy product, as well. The universe really hates lactose intolerant people.

Lactose fuels the universe.

Impound4017@sh.itjust.works · 26 pts · 2y (3 replies)

It’s where the ‘lactic’ part of galactic comes from.

Jackie_meaiii@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 18 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I'm galactose intolerant and I just eated 10 million stars and 10 quadrillion tons of space dust (my tummy hurts 🤧)

sunoc@sh.itjust.works · 13 pts · 2y

Omg are you Sagittarius A* ?! Such an honor to meet you here!

Impound4017@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2y

I got bloated now my tummy is defined with a Schwarzchild radius :(

Prunebutt@slrpnk.net · 23 pts · 2y

It's called "the milky way" for a reason.

Raxiel@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 2y

I'll be fine, I took a lactase tablet twenty minutes ago.

affiliate@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 2y

maybe they should’ve been a little more tolerant if they didn’t want to engulfed by a giant ball of plasma

a dying neutron star

A Black Dwarf is a thing, but not yet.

Edit: nope, White Dwarfs have a different evolution path.

Btw, what hapens with a pulsar after he's done pulsing?

Refractory period

ChannelSix@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Can neutron stars die?

ReveredOxygen@sh.itjust.works · 13 pts · 2y (2 replies)

If cooling down counts as dying. They don't produce heat or have much activity at all

itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Interestingly enough, the inner Layers of a neutron star are commonly modeled to have a temperature of 0K, since the extreme density prevents thermal movements

zephr_c@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 2y

They're still neutron stars though. As far as we know the only ways for a neutron star to stop being a neutron star is for enough stuff to fall into them that they collapse into a black hole, two merge to become a black hole, or if they get eaten by a black hole. Otherwise neutron stars are just about the most stable things in the universe.

I don't think I get it

Kusimulkku@lemm.ee · 23 pts · 2y (4 replies)

Original joke was something specific to lactose intolerance, like milk or yogurt. This anti-joke just replaces it with something that would destroy them like that regardless of their lactose bigotry.

Nom@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y (3 replies)

lactose bigotry.

How is it bigotry to be lactose intolerant when it's not a choice any individual can make? Being lactose tolerant isn't even a trait shared by half the world's adult population.

Kusimulkku@lemm.ee · 17 pts · 2y (2 replies)

It's a joke about intolerance

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 2y

Tolerance of intolerance is intolerance!

Riven@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 2y

I appreciate the deep layers of jokes lul.

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 10 pts · 2y

My guess is that it's an anti-joke. A dying neutron star will destroy anyone no matter what you can or can't digest.
