I mean, that is a completely reasonable vehicle compared to the majority of oversized dickup trucks and SUVs that most people around here drive.

Could be the only car they can afford/get a hold of right now. You drive what you can, cars are fucking expensive.

lemming934@lemmy.sdf.org · -2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Smaller cars are cheaper than pickup trucks

Not when you get it for free from a relative or friend

kralk@lemm.ee · -6 pts · 2y (3 replies)

And then you pay for custom plates?

tux@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

Let's not pretend that custom plates are "expensive" on the scale of vehicles. They're usually pretty cheap, in fact those smokey the bear ones cost a whopping $40 extra. You aren't getting a fancier truck or car for $40.

This comment has big "you spent $8 on coffee this week and you wonder why you can't afford a house" energy

kralk@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y

That's definitely a fair criticism.

How can you tell someone is vegan? Don't worry, they'll tell you.

pete_the_cat@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

My friend has a tattoo on his calf that says "VEGAN" in big block letters. He got it maybe a year or two after he went vegan. It was a pretty radical change because before that, he would make amazing beef jerky.
