Kde connect is pretty good for this, but im upset with how difficult it is to disable on both android + linux.

There's an open issue here from Mar 13, 2023 : https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/issues/1775 One commenter writes that it works on Sway but not hyprland.

Lately I switch between connect, unified remote, and steam link for the same reason. I also have a backup mini wireless keyboard for when none of them want to work right.

I can type using sunshine!

Not for a while now, I continued to use it after switching to AMD. It's regularly being updated, give it a try.

How do you install it, on what platform etc? Is this completely wayland ready? That would be slick

Install at https://github.com/LizardByte/sunshine. Ive been only using using for typing and mouse but it seems fine

Would VNC solve your issue? I use https://github.com/any1/wayvnc with Hyprland occasionally.
