I wasn’t planning on watching it but "Hardy Boys on acid" sounds fun if it’s even close to accurate.

Why is this in movies?

From the sidebar:

A community focused on discussions on movies and TV shows.

It's called movies as hopefully at some point in the future we'll have TV shows split, but as Lemmy still has a small community it makes sense to consolidate both types of content here

Nah, pull the trigger on a TV community.

Isn't there already !television@lemmy.world? I have enough on my plate at the moment, if someone wants to do it, they should! We could grow the two communities together, that would be nice

There's also !movies@lemmy.world but that hasn't held this community back.

Yes, but it takes some work to keep it alive and active. I'm already spread on a few other communities, so I can't do it for dedicated television community. But again, if someone wants to do it, let me know, I'll do my best to promote it

Pretty sure it's because this community's mods repurposed movies@lemm.ee after they had a falling out with the mod at moviesandtv@lemm.ee. So the content here is for both mediums.

If you don't like seeing tv content there are film-only communities like movies@lemmy.world, the much smaller movies@kbin.social and a whole lot of niche communities for trailers, full films, etc. I keep a list, hit me up if you want it.
