I find it annoying to have to check posts from multiple instances just to make sure I'm seeing all the comments. How can I find instances with open registration that block or are blocked by the fewest number of other instances?
I will probably have to take into account the instance size and the total number of users blocked.

Until moderation tools get up to snuff, I think fragmentation of communities/instances will be an ongoing problem for the average user. Open registrations are what the bad actors causing the defederation are looking for, but also what users want. At the moment, I'd say your best bet is to just shoot a message to a closed registration instance or host your own instance.
