Has anyone played Atrio: The Dark Wild?

I've thought about picking it up for a while now because (at least through art style) it seems like an interesting take in the genre.

Has anyone else played it? If so, what are your thoughts?

I have played in Alpha and Beta and it just had its 1.0 release (I have about 21 hrs of playtime). I think it's interesting that the game is in a 2.5D perspective. It should also be noted that it's from a pretty small studio (about 2 people IIRC)

Pros/Interesting:

  • Animals in the game can be captured and become a part of your factory (Frogs that suck air, Deer that give resources). I haven't seen any other game do it quite as well as this one.
  • Original story where each objective is pretty concrete (build powerlines over there)

Cons:

  • Early game can take a while since manual crafting from your inventory will happen for a while before you unlock a factory.
  • The replaceable robot thing gets old in my opinion and progress setbacks of having to run back to grab stuff can be annoying.

Overall I would recommend if you like small indie teams 6.5/10.
