Megadeth

cantstopthesignal@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 3y

Tornado of souls had one of the best guitar riffs and best guitar solos of all time, as well as one of the worst most amateurish vocal performances of any song ever

SomethingBurger@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 3y

Megadeth

StinkyDave@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 3y

Dream Theater

cupcake_of_DOOM@kbin.social · 13 pts · 3y

Limp Bizkit. Never like them. Then I heard some of Wes Borland's side projects. Made it clear that there were really good musicians in the band that could have evolved in interesting directions. But we'll never know because they were held back by Durst's angry drunk trashy frat-boy image and idiotic, juvenile lyrics.

Megadeth to a T

ed_cock@kbin.social · 7 pts · 3y

You are 100% correct but that's not stopping me from being mad about it

OctopusKurwa@lemm.ee · 8 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Any Djent band ever

oryx@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3y

The only djent I like is Destiny Potato/Sordid Pink. Her voice is insane!

Hazzardis@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

Well vocals are non-existant in a lot of djent music lol

Hextic@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Unpopular opinion but King Diamond. That man is a acquired taste. Oh he's real good and Mercyful Fate + KD is full of bangers but to the untrained ear sounds like Elmo sometimes. At least when I first was introduced.

Once my brain got over "it's not Elmo it's falsetto" it got a lot better. Glad I did because Melissa/Them/The Conspiracy are mandatory.

sturmblast@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

I never could get used to his style

Prandom_returns@lemm.ee · 7 pts · 3y (3 replies)

I'm gonna get banned, but System of a down.

Cylusthevirus@kbin.social · 24 pts · 3y

Banned, why? You are welcome to your bad, wrong opinions! It tells the rest of us who can be safely ignored. On the contrary, we thank you for your service.

Prandom_returns@lemm.ee · 10 pts · 3y

The dude actually blocked me.

taggart_mccallister@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y

Oh, 100% agree. Ironic since he sang the Godzilla cover in King of the Monsters.

Roundcat@kbin.social · 5 pts · 3y

Sonata Artica. Don't get me wrong, the story telling in his songs is amazing, but it's very obvious English isn't his first language.

cokane_88@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3y

Foo fighters

freamon@feddit.nl · 4 pts · 3y

Faith No More. Although "We Care A lot" popping up in Guardians 3 was one of the few bits I enjoyed.

oryx@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Silencer

Disclaimer: I love Silencer. Don't hate me

Joris@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

I wish there was a Silencer without the vocals. 😂

Xariphon@kbin.social · 4 pts · 3y

Anything with that screaming/growling vocal style feels like this to me. I get that it's a specific style and a specific skill to do, but holy fuck does it feel like nails on a chalkboard to my brain.

Dir en grey 😭 My favorite band for more than 20 years but damn if my ears aren't bleeding at times.

Cylusthevirus@kbin.social · 3 pts · 3y

Coheed and Cambria. Example.

ShunkW@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3y (3 replies)

I'd say skeletonwitch solely because their current vocalist is a turd.

mr_sifl@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Wow I didn't know they were still a band. I saw them open for Cannibal Corpse around the time Breathing the Fire came out and they were rad.

ShunkW@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Yeah they were sick back in the day. Then they fired their vocalist and the new guy got pissy when he wasn't as good. I might have trolled him on Facebook for a bit because he was such an asshole. I haven't listened to them since that night when I saw them and he was a huge dick to everyone at the show

3 Inches Of Blood.

They were still fantastic.

GillyGumbo@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

Sleep Token

Acid@startrek.website · 2 pts · 3y

Definitely has to be Megadeth without a question. Imagine them with an actual singer and they’d be so insane.

Dream theater is second but only because labrie has had his voice deteriorate so much over the years. His voice on every album up to octavarium was amazing.

scutiger@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

Clutch definitely fits.

benderbeerman@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 3y (1 reply)

I said AJJ, wife gave me a dirty look and said Tom Petty...

benderbeerman@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y

Oh, well, neither is really metal, but whatever

FormerGameDev@midwest.social · 2 pts · 3y

IMO, almost the entire Death Metal genre post Death's Spiritual Healing.

dx1@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

Devil Sold His Soul

AstralPath@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 3y

Scar Symmetry for sure.

Cynic, until you give them a second chance and they change your life.

Hat from the early Gorgoroth days. That shit just makes me laugh.

NuclearNoggin@lemmy.fmhy.ml · 1 pts · 3y

A7X new album

Norgur@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y

Equilibrium with their "new" fronter.

DigDoug@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

Gorguts

A lot of people really love Luc Lemay's vocals, and I think they're fine for the most part. It's just that I feel like he strays off the line between "Dark, menacing vocals for uncompromising music" and "Hilarious pained wailing" just a little bit too often.

guyrocket@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y

Unpopular opinion: Iron Maiden. It has taken me quite a while to get used to the vibrato in Dickinson's voice. Still not totally sure I like it.

eezeebee@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 3y

Inquisition

Dark Angel (Time Does Not Heal)

Mayhem (DMDS)

hyauzane@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

Dark Tranquillity, the vocals can be some much energetic than they feel now to me.
