I bet it picks back up in September. Considering how much students were relying on it to write their papers for them help them with school work, I expect that might explain the dip.

I use it for quick syntax style programming questions that I used to search for on stackoverflow. It seems fine for that as long as the prompting is clear.

I wonder if too many people got caught up on the hype train?
