On October 12, 1944, Chuck Yeager became ace in a day. Two of these kills were downed without firing a single shot, when two Messerschmitts crashed into each other.

I had the honor of listening to Chuck Yeager and Bob Hoover recount some of their WW2 stories and test flight stories live at Oshkosh and it was absolutely captivating
