That’s not trolling that’s bullying.

Its the same shit as satanists

gregorum@lemm.ee · 30 pts · 2y (15 replies)

how is The Satanic Temple demanding equal rights the same as bigoted harassment and bullying by the Heritage Foundation?

False equivalence

A false equivalence or false equivalency is an informal fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed or false reasoning. This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency. Colloquially, a false equivalence is often called "comparing apples and oranges."

Its the same sort of trolling.

again... explain how The Satanic Temple demanding equal rights is the same as bigoted harassment and bullying by the Heritage Foundation

The oppression totem pole shit doesn't really apply here

yeah, because straight men aren't oppressed, whereas the non-christians that TST advocate for are.

they dont have nearly the power that the likes of Disney and Apple.

TST doesn't, but The Heritage Foundation sure does...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heritage_Foundation

not that it matters, unless you're claiming that only an entity with the "power" of liberal companies that you hate could be considered bigoted or a bully...

Moving the goalposts

Moving the goalposts is an informal fallacy in which evidence presented in response to a specific claim is dismissed and some other (often greater) evidence is demanded. That is, after an attempt has been made to score a goal, the goalposts are moved to exclude the attempt.[4] The problem with changing the rules of the game is that the meaning of the result is changed, too.[5]

Theyre simply demanding the same rights for ex-gay people as gay people get

And what rights are those?

barsquid@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y (3 replies)

"Oppression totem pole?" Wouldn't you be more comfortable commenting on Truth or Stormfront than Lemmy?

What a weird take. What's the punch hierarchy?

gregorum@lemm.ee · 7 pts · 2y

Anything that lets straight, cis, white men cry about others getting rights as if it cost them anything other than their perceived superiority.

This is just hate, nothing more. How the fuck is it legal to just pay to spew garbage about minorities? Its not even hidden its just blatant hate. "Hey, fuck these people amirite?"

Engrave our wrongdoings in stone so the dolphins and squids can have peace when they try sapience next.

The First Amendment is pretty strong about how it's legal to be a dick.

Just as I can say that evangelicals are delusional children who never learned how to get over their daddy issues to the extent that they literally invent a daddy in the sky who just so happens to approve of every bias and bigotry they hold to.

Sanctus@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

You have a point, its just that this is directed at a group of people who aren't purposefully subscribing to a religion or ideal.

Why are you repeating yourself?

Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 12 pts · 2y (1 reply)

The HF should just call it "we want LGBTQ+ people to go back into hiding" day and get over itself.

gregorum@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y

That’s pretty much what they’re doing
