It should be law that you're not allowed to represent a constituency unless you've lived there for at least 36 months.

Because then the political parties can't parachute inexperienced candidates into safe seats so that:
The new candidate gets elected in a safe seat and learns the ropes of political life as an MP.
More experienced candidates can be deployed to marginal constituencies to contest the seat.

I would love to be represented by someone not from the area who, when asked a direct question, simply answers another question entirely that no-one asked about. Really says they have my interests as a constituent at the forefront.
