This post is extremely meta.

Being able to comment on old posts is interesting.

Could lead to problems or more interesting things.

I like it. It encourages people to use threads for deeper discussions rather than make a new post.

DadVolante@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Wowza. Forgot all about this

secret300@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

See what I mean, neat

DadVolante@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2y

Ha! You were kinda right, huh?

JackbyDev@programming.dev · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I hope that we see a culture that appreciates this rather than the often mindless complaints of necroing you'd see in forums.

I dig it as well, especially if the post is more technical and further comments help clarify things.

Could lead to problems

this is why I sort by "New Comments" for the Moderator View

DadVolante@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Been receiving replies for over a year

Which is still neat

Die4Ever@programming.dev · 3 pts · 1y

Lol yea. Very nice that Lemmy supports old threads unlike Reddit, the forums-style "New Comments" sort is such a good alternative to the other sorting methods. It should reduce the "need" for reposts, especially combined with Lemmy's nice auto-search when making a post.

Ha! You should see the insanity now!

Exactly!
