What got me the most was:

"I am really comfortable with asking government agencies to consider, are there ways that you can innovate to deliver the same level of service while taking less taxpayer dollars to do it."

"In fact, that should be how we conduct ourselves every day, not just in the lead up to a Budget"

Honestly, we've been doing that every year for decades, now!

It's so obvious:

  1. Cut government resources
  2. Complain about the government not working
  3. Push privatisation
  4. Profit

Or in the case of water services.

  1. Ditch a massive investment designed to fix most of the problems.
  2. Dictate new standards that local councils cannot afford to to meet.
  3. Force them to privatise services so they get the blame, not you.
