FedEx ground are all contractors. It depends on who has the contract for your area, but they tend to be pretty bad IME as well.

If I ever have a problem with a shipment, it’s not going to be UPS or the post office, about 8 times out of 10 it’s going to be FedEx.

I'm never more paranoid, and constantly watching the package tracking. Reloading it every few hours then when it is fucking FedEx. I think I have got one package ever where I didn't have to end up calling them, cause they always leave it somewhere else or it's destroyed. First package I ever got I had to walk down the road in the rain and meet the driver because he couldn't find where I lived and then walk back with him following me so he would "know next time." That was after three days calling and explaining to them that I live across the street from the church that they repeatedly said they knew where it was at.

This happened to me when I had bought a gift for a friend out of state. Blurry skewed picture of the house with the package nowhere to be seen. Thankfully it was there, but it is definitely infuriating.
