I took some photos a while back on an adventure to Aldershot because I enjoy seeing dead malls and places that are going abandoned.
This is the shopping center. Unfortunately it was blocked off but through the gate I got a really great photo of the eerie liminal space beyond!

This whole thing is just abandoned? What? Why? That's insane.

it's strange, baring in mind this was a few years ago but at the time I visited they had 1 side closed off to the public. Effectively the dead side with no shops or anything and only one small portion of it left that seemed to be very active.
I have deep facination for places on the cusp of abandonment. Another one I visited was the Swindon Tented Market. From my childhood I remember it being an incredible place but when it closed it was just empty. With nothing in it.
It's a shame, places have a lot of potential to be community spaces but they opt to just let it die...

Great photo! It reminds me of the place Top Gear drove a Ford Fiesta through.

Right?! Think that one was in Basingstoke? Festival Place iirc.
That said Basingstoke and Aldershot sorta have similar vibes to me.
