What does Selenium have to do with reducing power usage?

Allon@lemmy.kde.social · 5 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It can be used to create scripts to be runned on kde eco lab to measure the power consumption of your app.

be4foss@floss.social · 2 pts · 2y

@Allon @simple Exactly, it enables automation of user behavior so one can measure energy consumption in a replicable way.

This measurement method is described in detail here (see Fig. 4 for lab setup): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0167739X17314188

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Have you measured Akonadi based applications? I just had to uninstall Kontact because the memory consumption brought down my computer. It was also constantly writing to disk and requiring 10% CPU, probably indexing related?

anzo@programming.dev · 1 pts · 2y

Yeah, disable file indexing or wait until it finishes.

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social …sue Selenium? What’s going on with the alt text?

Orca@nya.one · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

@mizah@macrofurs.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Did you ( @kde@floss.social ) generate your alt text with something?

mizah@macrofurs.social · 0 pts · 2y

@Orca @kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Nah, it's probably just a small typo, it should say "use"
