It's such a great fear acquired when I was a kid. Accompanies me still to this day every time I play Minecraft once in a while.

the great thing about minecraft is if you’re far enough away that the chunk unloads, your items are safe for much longer than 5 minutes, if not just indefinitely.

Still prefer modded Minecraft with waypoints and the gravestone mod.

oh god yeah, i hardly even consider things like minimaps and waypoints to be mods, really. they’re such necessary QoL improvements.
