Loving these Opinel knives

Bought a No.9 stainless the other day and love it but after reading about Opinel knives and the history I just needed a No.8 Carbone

They're a classic for a reason, and that reason is consistency. You buy one today, you can count on it being a good knife, just like the one your dad bought. And, most likely, your kid will be able to do the same.

I... can't buy any more pocket knives. Must resist...

I put on an old sweater last week and in the pocket I found my old Opinel. I had not seen it for a year or more and was glad to discover it there. So simple and a joy to use.

Glad you found it !

I've needed a new knife for a while now and when I saw they have one with a pretty wood handle and a black coating on the blade I decided that's gonna have to be what I get when I get mys replacement.

This might be heresy, but I do wish they had a flipper or something more than a nail nick though 😅

that would make them illegal in France. Even in this form they're rather "tolerated". Depending on who and where you are, they may be confiscated

on deadit there was a community called Opinel Mods where some posted their opinels with thumb studs. Looks like an easy mod

That's fuckin rad! Thank you for letting me know about that, I'll absolutely keep that in mind for the future!
