This may be a strange question but I'll ask anyway. Do the orders have a particular smell? (I'm not trying to be weird)

The... Orders? Do you mean the steel?
Intrama@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
Omg, yeah.. what do those pieces all smell like together there??
domdanial@reddthat.com · 5 pts · 2y
They smell like metal and oil and my fingers..

This wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped ๐

man that's a lot of bushings!! I'm guessing there for an order? Or are they for a project in house?

I don't wanna be licking the leaded steal lol
chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
How long did it take you to turn all those?
domdanial@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 2y
Mm took a shift from setup to finished. I had to proof the program and made some edits along the way.

Thatโs not bad at all! Iโve never even been near a machine tool in my life so I wouldnโt know though! Iโm interested in hobby machining but Iโm a long way from even having a workspace, let alone buying my first lathe.
