The justice system seems to have forgotten we have an eighth amendment. So maybe we should just dump it, like the first half of the second.

Jails are just holding facilities for mental health patients who lack access to healthcare. We would solve a lot of issues if we had free and easy access to it. It would also cost a lot less.

(2) How is *checks notes* healthcare for inmates something we have to debate about? If you are incarcerated your well-being is the responsibility of the state. The government has to take care of you because you don't get a choice in being there.
