Given the fact that he's openly said women should stay in violent marriages rather than getting a divorce, I can't help but think not everything Usha Vance says these days is what she means.
Usha was likely never left learning. She, like her husband, is clearly motivated by greed and a desire for power. I would not be surprised if part of the reason she worked at a progressive law firm is because she could take advantage of the firms desire for diversity. She’s ambitious and will play whatever role serves her best. She’s the classic example of a modern day conservative — take advantage of every opportunity then work to strip those opportunities from others to ensure they stay on top; 0 empathy.
