We have the opposite of sanctuary districts in 2024 America- you're not allowed to be homeless in cities at all at this point. Want to sleep on a bench? Cops can make you leave or arrest you. Want to sleep in a tent city? Cops can clear it out. Want to sleep in a shelter? Hope you don't have something like a dog to protect you if you're a woman on the streets. Also, hope you aren't homeless long-term.
Sanctuary districts would, horrifyingly, put people in a better situation than they're in now.
