I need a new DE

Windows DE sucks. What are some good alternatives?

Smh do you really use a desktop environment like a freaking normie? Oh lemme guess, you don't even use vim. You're not a true Linux user unless you get rid of every single GUI on your machine, terminals work just fine.

Understood. Removed everything including GUI, trackpad, keyboard, battery. I also downloaded ram. Laptop is super fast now.

KDE plasma

Gnome is widely regarded as the best DE as it is one of the most lightweight and optimized environments.

Hope this helps!

There is Cairo. And if you are on older Windows, like 7 - XP, there is SharpEnviro.

The fact that you're calling it a DE suggests that you're probably already familiar with the alternatives... but I'll bite anyway!

I love the i3 window manager with rofi launcher, because tiling windows and keyboard-centric controls are awesome.

But I've mostly been using gnome and kde plasma (tweaked to look like gnome). I would suggest gnome for its simplicity and beauty, but wkth KDE plasma you can really customize the living hell out of your de.
