I'm on a mission to secure an administrative assistant job in Toronto within the next 18 days. Yes, 18. I know it's a tight deadline, but I'm determined to make it happen. I'd appreciate any advice and tips on how to achieve this goal. Here are a few things I'm already working on:
-
Resume and Cover Letter: Tailoring my resume and cover letter to highlight relevant skills and experiences.
-
Skills Development: Brushing up on essential skills like Microsoft Office, email etiquette and scheduling.
-
Job Applications: Applying to multiple job postings daily on various job boards.
-
Networking: Reaching out to my network and attending virtual job fairs.
What else should I focus on to increase my chances of landing a job quickly? Any specific strategies or resources you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Assuming Canada is similar to the US, apply at temp agencies. Many companies hire exclusively through them.

Cover letter is a big one. Most jobs list them as optional these days, but if landing a job quickly is the goal, you may be better off applying to slightly fewer by taking more time on a much stronger/stand-out application for each, as seems to be your plan. Good luck!

I just now saw this; what did you end up doing? All of your steps looked good to me.
