Shit, I remember when I bought a pack of toilet paper and the cashier said "have a nice meal" (Swedish version) to me and I absentmindedly replied "you're welcome" and we just stared at each other before laughing.
She explained that she had just previously worked as a waitress. I didn't have an excuse, however.
