c/kde · by Berny23@lemmy.sdf.org · 2yIs the path "~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals" still used in Plasma 6.1 on Arch, or can I safely remove it? It is the only file in there. 37 points · 10 comments · view on lemmy.world

On my system, it supposedly hasn't been modified since 2022, and hasn't been accessed since January.
~/.config/kdeglobalswas modified today. You could just rename it tokdeglobals.bakand see what happens.Berny23@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 2y
Thanks, I will try that.

Is KDE still not using
~/.config/? (I'm not a KDE user)Berny23@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 2y
It does, but since I used Plasma 5 before, there are some old files scattered around in my home folder.

I think if you can find the same file inside .config it should be ok to remove it.
Just in case keep a backup of that file.

An easy way to test, and revert, is to just rename the top level folder.

I don't have a
~/.kdefor a long time, but I did set my xdg dirs years ago too.
