On WotC's forum back in the early 2000s there was a thread with reworked versions of the Ranger for 3rd gen, nothing new to it being the class the devs don't seem to know what to do with... I even created one with an ambush skill going up every few levels, I wish I had kept a backup because now it's gone...

What subclass?
Honestly it is fine but there's just a lot of awkward abilities that don't mesh well with certain DMs or play styles.
